Alfie's last day at Phoenix house

With Christmas Eve drawing near Alfie our elf will have to head back to the North Pole to help out santa and the other elves. We have had a great time trying to find where he will be every morning, with lots of surprises along the way. Last night Alfie managed to get stuck in the Lego while building! What a silly elf, I wonder who will find him first!! Merry Christmas and a happy new year from all of us here at Phoenix house and Alfie. xx

Christmas Tree Craft

We have been busy creating lots of Christmas art and crafts over the past few weeks getting into the Christmas spirit!
Today we have made Christmas trees out of ice-block sticks and used sequins and gems to symbolize the decorations. The children showed confidence using the hot glue gun and were very creative with the colours and patterns they did when positioning their decorations onto their craft trees :)

Take a look at their beautiful Christmas tree creations :)

Santa's Melting hands

This morning the Phoenix House children had great fun with this sensory play experience of 'Santa's Melting Hands' where they were able to look and touch Santa's magic. In his frozen hands they saw the Reindeers bells, glittery magic as well as Rudolf's red nose along with many other shiny trinkets!!

The children showed such excitement as they managed to transfer some of Santa's magic onto their hands!! :)
It is safe to say we are very excited for Santa's arrival this weekend

Playing with Peanut and Butter

Today it was raining and cold outside so we stayed inside for the morning. But we were excited to see our new bunnies Peanut and Butter. We decided to bring them inside to have a play, we set up the pen with hay and their favourite food- Carrots. Peanut and Butter loved sniffing all the children and getting nice gentle pats from them.

Making Christmas puddings

Today we made Christmas puddings that we will be able to enjoy at our Christmas Party on Friday. We had so much fun decorating them and licking the left over chocolate from the bowl.  Make sure you try these at home, recipe below and they are really easy to make :)
