#BACKINGTHEBLACKCAPS SINCE 2009

It was a great experience  and wonderful opportunity to have fun with black caps in our neighborhood at my friend's place.  We had chat and kids had match with them. It was an unforgettable  moment for all of us. GO THE BLACK CAPS...................

Learning to Measure

Last week Bex made us a leap frog resource...You need to hold the frog and jump as far as you can, then we measure the distance and record each persons name and distance on our chart. This is a fun way of introducing basic maths concepts, learning about distance, measurement and building on our gross motor skills...You were all excellent little leaping frogs :)

The volcano buzz continues...

A little baking soda and vinegar...... a lot of active investigation going on!!

Frozen bugs!!

How to set our insect animals free from the frozen ice???  The posing question of the day!!  Lets just say there was quite a lot of discussion and debate over the best way to do this!!   I liked the collaboration toward the end as you worked together to race and figure it out this morning.

DUMPLINGS!!

Last week we made some yummy dumplings as part of our Chinese New Year celebrations! We made pork and shrimp dumplings and a vegetarian option. We made them from scratch which mean't we had to make the dough too. Once we made the dough it needed to rest in a plastic bag for 20 mins, while we waited for the dough to be ready we made the filling. There were lots of yummy ingredients that went into the filling and everyone had a turn of measuring, adding and then mixing. Dumplings take a long time to make so we were so lucky that we had the help of Cindys mum Irene to show us how to make them! Once they were ready we steamed them and then ate then for morning tea with soy sauce to dip them in. YUMMMMMMMMY they were so delicious! Thank you Irene for coming to help us xxxx
