Phonics Song

Everyday during Mat Time we go through our Phonics song with the Children where we identify the letter of the alphabet and match it with the sound of that letter. We have received so much positive feedback from our parents in regards to their children singing at home and attempting to sound out names and objects within their home environment. This week we have noticed children initiating their own mat times with their friends and going through the Phonics songs themselves and taking on that Teacher role through their imaginary play. This is only the start of what we will have to offer the Phoenix House children in terms of getting them 'Be School Ready' so stay tuned :)
