A little bit of NZ history

ANZAC day activities

Flags, Poppies, play-dough and cakes

This week we have been making lots of art creations in remembrance of the Australian and New Zealand soldier's for ANZAC day this Friday. We made New Zealand flags, a row of poppies, red play dough and a red iced cake for morning tea. At mat-time we sung our New Zealand anthem and Bex spoke to us about what ANZAC stands for, why we have a public holiday and wear red and poppies and why we have ANZAC day...to commemorate all New Zealander's killed in war and to honor the returned servicemen and women. We have learnt a lot about New Zealand History this week and had so much fun doing it!! Ka Pai tamariki ma.
