Creating Tambourines

The Phoenix house have a growing interest towards Music and Movement lately and absolutely LOVE to dance! Today we decided to make some tambourines of our own to make music with :)

They decorated their paper plates using a variety of different colours and chose streamers and feathers that they wanted to use for their personalised creation!

We used rice to put inside our tambourines - children decided the amount of rice they wanted to use inside depending on what kind of sound they wanted their tambourine to make. E.g. Loud or quiet

All the children conveyed a great amount of creativity and focus throughout this activity and showed such pride when making music with their very own tambourines :)

Easter Egg Hunt

The Phoenix House had a great day hunting and searching for their hidden eggs this morning. They looked high and low for their chocolate treats :)

D.I.Y Superhero's

In continuation with our interest in superhero's we decided to make some superhero's of our own! The children chose what colours they were going to use, drew on their facial features and they came up with a unique Superhero name for their creations as well as super powers they might have. The children conveyed a lot of creativity, focus and interest throughout this activity :)

Superhero's

Superhero's have been a BIG interest within the Phoenix House at the moment - so today we decided to create our own superhero masks :)
We had so much fun creating our own masks and choosing our own colours and designs. We will be sure to continue to foster this interest through a number of different areas of learning.

Little Leprechans

This week some of the Phoenix House children decided to make some little Leprechauns of their own in celebration of St Patricks Day! They drew on the leprechauns features, coloured in his hair and hat and then dipped a fork into Orange paint to make a ginger beard! We discussed what a leprechaun was where they came from and where we can find them :) Perhaps we may find some hiding around Phoenix House tomorrow on St Patricks day!~

Easter Egg Fun

We have been extremely busy the past few days decorating our Easter Eggs before the Easter Bunny comes! The Phoenix House children have put so much time and effort into their creations and they look fantastic! Be sure to have a look next time you arrive at the Phoenix House :)

St Patricks Day activities

With St. Patricks day only a week away we have started getting into the Irish spirit by creating a big collage of an Irish Shamrock this morning. The Phoenix House children showed great creativity throughout this activity and their masterpiece turned out awesome!

We have also created our very own pot of gold with a big, bright beautiful rainbow coming out of it - we did the rainbow through finger painting - be sure to have a look at our glistening pot of gold pictures next time you come into the Phoenix House :)
